Trip to Porto

Arrival at Porto airport and private transfer to the hotel.

For approximately two and a half hours, you’ll explore the city’s must-see landmarks. You’ll visit the Clérigos Tower—the tallest in Portugal—with panoramic views from its lookout. The tour continues to the University of Porto and the famous Lello Bookstore, where you’ll uncover the legends linking this academic institution to the magical world of Harry Potter.

You’ll also visit the elegant São Bento train station, renowned for its 20,000+ azulejos depicting Portugal’s history. The day concludes at the Sé Cathedral, a fortress-like religious building perched atop the city, rich in architectural evolution and historical detail.

Begin the day crossing the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge, admiring views of the colorful Ribeira district.

On the other side of the river, you’ll visit the 17th-century Monastery of Serra do Pilar, then stroll among wine cellars and traditional rabelo boats at the emblematic Cais de Gaia.

The tour continues through Jardim do Morro and the Church of Santa Mariña, followed by a visit to the Beira-Rio Municipal Market, filled with culinary stalls.

You’ll discover Gaia’s artistic legacy—from the baroque architect Nicolau Nasoni to the striking urban art installation “Half Rabbit” by Bordalo II.

The day includes entry to one of Porto’s renowned wine cellars, with a tasting of two distinct varieties of Port wine. (Spanish-language visits typically begin around 13:20.)

Morning walking tour through Porto’s Ribeira district, starting at Largo de São Domingos and passing landmarks like the Palácio das Artes, the Fernandine Gothic Wall, and the Escada do Caminho Novo—stairs nestled in the Miragaia neighborhood offering stunning views.

Along the way, you’ll learn curiosities about Porto’s traditional boats and the local “tripeiros.”

Next stops include the impressive baroque Church of São Francisco, the Palácio da Bolsa, and the Casa do Infante—now a museum.

The route continues through Praça da Ribeira and ends beside the Dom Luís I Bridge, a true icon of the city.

In the afternoon, enjoy the Six Bridges Cruise along the Douro River, sailing from the Arrábida Bridge (the longest in Porto) to the Freixo Bridge at the city’s eastern edge.

You’ll also pass under the Dom Luís I Bridge (385 meters long and built in the 19th century), the Infante D. Henrique Bridge (2003), the Maria Pia Bridge (designed in 1873 by Théophile Seyrig, partner of Gustave Eiffel), and the São João Bridge (rail-only).

Beyond the bridges, you’ll take in the best views of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, home to the city’s most famous wine cellars. Naturally, the cruise is aboard a rabelo—the traditional boat used to transport wine barrels from the Douro Valley to Gaia’s cellars.
